And Then There Was Sight!
Typically puppies open their eyes around 10 days of age. Right on schedule, these babies opened their eyes one by one. It started on Sunday, February 19. Penny opened her eyes just a tiny bit, little slats… as though she was still deciding if she wanted to see what was out there. The next day, she opened them completely (it must not have looked too bad). That afternoon, Buddha opened his and finally, on Tuesday morning, we woke up to see Wishbone’s eyes wide open. Almost a week later, they are now able to focus and actually see the world around them.
We had a little photoshoot to celebrate their milestone! It is hard to see their eyes, they have so much black around them. Also, as typical babies all they want to do is eat and sleep, so I think they actually took a nap in the middle of their shoot!
Every time I look at these little guys, I think I see a different breed. They are starting to get very fuzzy and some of the black is turning brown! They are still very large, weighing in just under two pounds already. Just who was Daddy? He must have been very good looking!
Of course, we cannot forget to include Mama Clover. She is always watching over her babies.
