PLEASE HELP BRIANNA

I have mentioned Erin, the Dog Team Leader at AARF, many times throughout this blog.  She is one of the most dedicated individuals I have ever met.  She sent this email today.  Erin rarely asks for help, so I know she really needs it.  Maybe you can help too?

Erin’s Email:

Hey Guys,

Last week, one of our volunteers rescued a very pregnant dog from the middle of a busy street.  Brianna is a little terrier mix, approximately 15 lbs.  She was starving, and her body condition made it clear that she was not getting fed steadily or enough, and all the nutrition she could muster was going to the babies.  We had a sonogram done and the vet confirmed four babies inside.

This morning (Saturday, April 30) Brianna went into labor around 6:30 AM.  I cancelled my day and sat with her and waited and kept her calm.  She began delivering puppies at 10:30.  Brianna struggled all day delivering puppies with my assistance, and we how have SEVEN beautiful little babies.  But Brianna continued to labor.  I was in awe thinking that an eighth puppy was going to come parading out of there.  After more than an hour of trying to deliver, though, it became apparent that something was really wrong.

Brianna is currently at the emergency vet so that they can figure out what is going on.  They suspect that there may be a fetus inside that has been dead for sometime.  Whatever it is has caused Brianna to bleed excessively.  She is exhausted after her long day of labor, and I am afraid that she is fading.

As you all know, AARF operates on donations, and right now our funds are very low.  The vets are working to save Bree and her pups, but the vet bill is approaching $700 and may exceed that.

If anyone can donate ANYTHING to Brianna’s care, I would be eternally grateful.  Even $5 or $10 makes a difference – especially if enough people chip in.  I am begging – please help me help Brianna.  After all that she has been through, I just think that she deserves to know a better life.  I refuse to let her become yet another casualty of someone’s neglect and cruelty.

Donations can be mailed to:

Please note that your donation is for Brianna.  Donations can also be made via our paypal account at www.aarfanimals.org.  If you do not have the ability to make a donation, I ask that you help me by forwarding this on.

I am attaching a picture of Brianna.  I tried to attach pictures of the puppies, but my phone will not cooperate.  I will send puppy pictures as soon as I am able.

Thanks so much to all of you who make it possible for us to continue to help animals in need.
