Puppy Love!

Is it me or do puppies just keep getting cuter!?  Please meet my newest foster baby:

Tilly

Her name is Tilly.  It was Lilly, but with one of those already in the program, we needed something else… hence Tilly.  She already responds to it!

Trying to keep her eyes open.

Tilly and her littermates were found abandoned in Georgia.  A rescue group there agreed to take all of them and bottle feed them, as they were all only a few weeks old!  The woman that found them, though, thought she wanted to keep Tilly.  She brought the puppy home with her to Winston-Salem.  However, within a few days, she realized just how much work a new puppy is and sought out assistance…. leading her to me.

Falling Asleep Standing Up!

And she is asleep

Tilly was just four weeks old when we took her in 12 days ago.  She is now almost six weeks old and will be ready for adoption in a very short time.  Her breed is undetermined, although we think she looks like a Boxer mix.  Right now, she is super tiny… but she will likely be a large dog.  Tilly is growing fast – gaining as much as two pounds a week, which is normal for a healthy puppy.

Sleeping Tilly

Don’t let her pictures fool you, this little girl is full of spunk.  She may look cute and innocent… but she is a little spitfire!  She loves to play and wrestle and makes tiny growling noises when she gets really into it.  She can make quite the scene and always makes me laugh.

Four Weeks Old

In just a few days, we will introduce her to the other dogs.  I am betting her and Gretal will be great playmates.  Despite being several months older, Gretal is only a little bigger than her!  Oh boy… put the two of them together and it may be a cuteness explosion!
