While I was away…

I know, I know… I have been AWOL for awhile now.  As usual, life has gotten the better of me and that’s my excuse.

Stepping Stones is now several months old and a huge success, with many wonderful adoptions complete!  Of course, that requires lots and lots of time and work, leaving little time for blogging.  My apologies!

What have we been up to?  Nearly every Saturday we have been holding fundraisers – everything from dog washes to doggie ice cream socials to craft sales.  During the week, we are processing applications, doing home visits, picking up new dogs and attending vet appointments.  In my free time, I have been creating crafts, attending auctions and anything else I can think of to raise a few extra bucks for the rescues.  Whew!  I am tired.

So… what have you missed?

Tilly has been adopted!  Her new name is Bailey and she is growing into a much larger dog than we expected.  It turns out she still loves to swim and has already been camping!  She has an awesome older human brother and a mama that is taking very good care of her.  This foster couldn’t be happier!

Tilly... again

One more... just because the camera loves her!

Hansel and Gretal – both adopted!!!  Can I get a high five?

Hansel was adopted by a wonderful family, where he finally helped his Daddy even out a house full of females… with a beautiful mama, two sweet sisters and a doggie sister that I understand is still learning to share.  His new name is Lucky… because it took a ton of luck for the stars to align just right, landing him in his new forever home.

Kisses from Hansel

Hansel found his angels.

Ironically, Gretal did the same thing for her family!  She is now the only girl in a family with three human brothers and a wonderful mom and dad.  Her new name is Lucy and I have a feeling she is getting spoiled, just the way she deserves!

Gretal - so petite!

Remember Gavi?  She is Major’s sister and was fostered by me for just a few days before heading to a new foster home.  This lovely lady also was adopted!

Wow!  Summarizing all of that at one time sure makes my chest swell with happiness!  Those are just the ones that spent some time with me… many more found their homes through Stepping Stones.  It is so worth the “work”.

Keep an eye out for an update on all of the puppies staying in my home now!
