Just can’t get enough Beagle love!

There is something so special about Beagles!

A farmer in Virginia found these two adorable little puppies in his yard (likely dumped).  He turned to a friend in North Carolina for help and now they are with us!  Please, let me introduce Hansel and Gretal.

Hansel and Gretal (chasing a bug, I believe)

While they didn’t get lost in the woods, they are desperately searching for their way to a forever home.  They have been with us for a few weeks now and I can officially say that I-AM-IN-LOVE!

Both of these dogs is so special.  Gretal stole the looks… she is quite beautiful and resembles Clover a bit.  Hansel, on the other hand, has the most wonderful personality (ok, he is my fav).  As soon as we sit down for the evening, Hansel jumps into my lap… if he isn’t in my chair already.  As soon as he is on my lap, he looks right into my eyes and melts my heart.  I swear he thinks that I am the bomb-diggity (yes, I am stuck in the 80’s).  Once Hansel is settled, Gretal will soon follow.

Where am I supposed to sit?

She is also excellent at cuddling.  But, she reminds me of the popular girl on campus.  She knows how pretty she is and she flaunts it to the world!  She rules the roost around here and if any of the other dogs get in her way, she is the first one to tattle to me about it.  At just five pounds, Gretal is TINY and likes to get under everyone’s feet.  So, she tattles a lot.

I never know if I need to defend her or just laugh at her.  She certainly is entertaining!

Watching the two of them together is so much fun and when they curl up in my lap, I could swear I am the luckiest foster in the world!  But, then I look over at Clover, who is doing just great with her heartworm treatment and then I realize I am even luckier than I thought!  What a wonderful gift these guys are!

Stats:  Hansel and Gretal are 9-10 weeks old.  They were strays, so we don’t know their exact breed.  But, they appear to be all Beagle.  Gretal suffered an injury to her tail before she was placed in foster care and is missing the tip of it.  Otherwise, they are completely healthy.
