I Am Famous!

Okay… that is a total lie.  But, some of the photos that I took today are going to be published in an actual magazine.  How cool is that?

My new camera has made me super photo-happy.  Okay… camera-crazy might be more exact.  I am actually starting to wonder if I have worn out my battery already…  I am so in love with the results this camera produces that I-can’t-stop.  Someone help me!

On Saturday, Scott and I spent all day at the AARF Adoption Fair.  I started a post about that the other day… finished it… and then hit “publish”… all of my work disappeared!!!  No kidding.  So, that post is still in the works of RE-creation.  While I was there on Saturday, I snapped a few photos of the cats.  They were such great models!  They really know how to work the “cat-walk” if you know what I mean!  Anyhow, I sent the photos to the cat team at AARF and they asked if I could come back and take a few more shots of the cats up for adoption.  Of course, I couldn’t wait!

Today, I spent my lunch hour at the AARF House snapping shots of the hottest kitties EVER!  Before I knew it, I was way past my hour of lunch and had to ask my boss for forgiveness.  I had so much fun with them.  Some of the best shots are going to be published in WAG!.  It is their very first issue.  Someone purchased an entire page of sponsorships for AARF’s animals.  We couldn’t be more excited!  And… my overly expensive camera may actually save life!

Please let me introduce you to my models!

I wish I could tell you all of their stories…. unfortunately, I don’t know them.  But, as I find out more, I will be sure to share.

This beautiful cat stole my heart in a second.  I don’t even know if it is a girl or a boy (my gut says girl).  But, she was a TOTAL camera hog.  The staff asked me to grab shots of a few specific cats… but I wasted a ton of time on this “girl” cause she just kept posing.  I swear I heard “Vogue, Vogue, Vogue” playing in the background.

There are about 25 more where these came from!

This is Alice.  She is a beautiful long-haired Calico.  She loved my attention… as long as I didn’t have my camera in her face.  Poor girl.  She was one that I was supposed to get a shot of… she wasn’t having it.  But, allowed me this glimpse of her beauty.

This gorgeous kitty is Kali.  I am IN LOVE with this cat.  I believe it is a female… although I am not certain.  She has a bobbed tail and is buff orange (obviously).  She spent most of our time together with her head buried in a bowl eating.  Kali can’t seem to stop eating.  But, when she came up for a breath, she was extremely sweet and loving.  I can’t wait to find out her story… it must be a good one.  Anyone that let go of this angel must  have an amazing reason.  She was wonderful… although not the best model of the day.

This is Henry.  He got all “artsy’ with me and the wall… I loved it!  This guy is afraid of NOTHING.  I rang a bell, hoping to get their attention… lots of the cats ran from me.  Henry attacked the bell, as if to say “You think you’re tough?”.  He was a real treat.  I desperately need to learn what happened to his ears.  But, whatever it was… he clearly won!

I don’t actually know what this cat’s name is.  (I intended to record all of their names before I left… but I knew my boss would not be happy with a two hour lunch).  So, I have dubbed “him”, Dracula!  He spent most of the time on top of the table, scaring away the other cats.  He was never mean.  But, he was definitely in charge!  In person, I couldn’t even see his teeth.  Tonight, I was looking at his photos and that is all you can see!  This guy definitely needs a roost to rule!

This handsome fellow (again, assuming)… was the second best camera hog of the day.  I am calling him “the Hunk”.  He was adorable… and into everything!

This guy, named “Tux”… cracked me up.  I could not get a great shot of him all day long because he wanted to be touching me or the camera at every second.  This was definitely my favorite shot of the day!

Judging by this blog… you may never guess it.  I grew up as a CAT LOVER!  If something had a kitten on it… I had to own it.  I LOVE CATS!  Sadly, however, I fell in love with Scottie.  He is deathly (seriously) allergic to cats.  Once in a great while, I sneak one past him and he deals with as much as he can.  I pretend that these guys are not my favorites.  But… they totally rock my world!
