It’s all about Elsa

Look who has decided to visit for awhile:

Isn’t she adorable?  I am completely smitten!

Eli was adopted a few weeks ago and the house has been rather quiet, despite Eve’s best efforts to fill the void.  So, when AARF called looking for a foster for a pug-mix puppy.  I couldn’t say yes fast enough.

There are three puppies.  Mama is a pure-bred pug, Daddy didn’t leave a calling card… so we have no idea what they are mixed with.  Her sibilings are very fuzzy.  There are two girls and one boy.  The other female is being fostered in a home with a little girl, who insisted she be called Emma.  To, keeping up with the theme, I am calling this one Elsa.  The “E” theme seems to be reoccuring in this house with Eli and Eve… why break it now?  Her brother is yet to be named, but I have heard Earl being thrown out there… we will have to see how that goes.

The three puppies were not being cared for and running loose in a neighborhood.  A friend of a friend of a friend talked with the owner and she agreed to surrender them.  Apparently it was just in the nick of time as the owner admitted that she didn’t know what to do with them and was planning to “tie them to the railroad tracks” to get rid of them.  (Who even thinks of something like that?  And then says it out loud?)

Elsa is sweet as can be.  She absolutely loves being held and is very inquisitive.  Within minutes, she figured out how to go over the baracade Scott built to keep her in the laundry room.  When he adjusted it, she figured out to how to under it.  She is one smart little puppy.  Elsa wants to check out everything, but isn’t a huge fan of the other dogs.  She also HATES her crate.  I have her in a huge crate – like a condo for a dog her size, but she screams all night long trying to get out.  For a little dog, she can make a bit riot!  And, she likes to toss everything in her crate around for extra noise making.  Really, all she wants is to be around her people.  Once she is out, she is quiet as a mouse… and not much bigger.

Did I mention how small she is?  Thursday, she weighed in at 4.8 pounds.

These puppies are just three months old, so they have a lot of growing to do.  They will likely be on the small side, but could get to be medium-sized dogs as adults.  But, for now, I am loving my pint-sized peanut.  This litter will go up for adoption in three weeks… I don’t expect I will have her long, so please excuse me while I go spoil her rotten for a little longer!

(She immediately found Tuck’s bed and took it over.)
