And Two More Makes a Full House (For Today)

Scott brought home these adorable little wrinkle babies today. They came from a litter of four. Two were able to find homes, but these little girls weren’t as lucky. Their owner went to Scott for help and I could hardly stand the anticipation as we awaited their arrival.
We have been HUGE fans of the Shar Pei breed since adopting our dog, Fred, who is 25% Shar Pei. We fostered two other pure bred Shar Peis last year… and adored them. Their stories coming soon.

The beautiful, dark black puppy is called Jackie. She has wrinkles that go all the way down her back and I am already loving her outgoing and friendly personality. She is very adventurous and is settling right in (although Spirit is not thrilled with her super playful nature).

Her sister Chloe is much more shy and leery of this new situation. She is presently serving as Jackie’s shadow. She is nervous and unsure what to think about things thus far. She is much bigger than her sister. Daddy weighs 75 pounds and I think she may take after him! It looks like Jackie is going to be closer to her mom’s 45 pound weight.

The next step is to find a rescue group that will help me get these guys vetted and advertised for adoption. (This is not how fostering is supposed to go – usually, the rescue group finds fosters to take dogs they need help with… not the other way around. So, I am hoping they forgive… look at those faces… how could they not?)

Lots more updates and photos to come!

As I look back I am amazed at how big my girl got. We are not ale to pick her up but she does her best to be a lap dog on occasion. She is a huge love sponge!
