How do they know?

Last week, another beautiful foster joined our home. We are calling her Cricket.

Cricket is not our typical foster. Scott is extremely allergic to cats and therefore, I have had to keep my cat fostering to a minimum (which is not easy cause I love ‘em). But, Scott really went out of his way this time to make sure this cat was safe.

Scott works in retail and last week, he was working outside of one of his stores when he spotted something under the dumpster. He said he noticed her, but kept working. As anyone who knows cats will tell you… they don’t like to be ignored. So, as soon as Scott opened the door to go inside, the cat bolted inside with him. Unsure what to do, Scott called me for advice. Of course, I told him to do whatever was needed to keep her safe and bring her home so we could reunite her with her family. Much to my surprise, he made her comfortable in his car until he was finished working and brought her home. Insert a big pat on the back to Scott – here!

Cricket is a beautiful, all white cat with faded greenish/grey eyes. She has no claws in the front and is clearly used to being an indoor kitty. She is not a very big cat (despite the pudgy “I have been very well fed” belly). She is extremely sweet and loving, although she is afraid of the dogs. I was certain we would find her home within a short time. Unfortunately, however, it has been a week with no luck. I still have to have her scanned for a microchip. But, at this point, it appears Ms. Cricket is going to be in need of a forever home. In the meantime, she is enjoying the warm and cozy of our laundry room.

Meet Cricket (sorry for the poor quality photo, I am still working on replacing my broken camera):
